Small worms on tomato plants - which one?

Sorry I don't have pics, but my camera just can't focus on them.

Today I discovered holes in a number of leaves, as well as some black poop looking droppings on a few leaves. Closer inspection revealed a small greenish worm, about 1" long on a newer, still green tomato. I've seen pictures of the hornworm, this doesn't appear to be one as it has two long white stripes running the length of either side of the back rather than the diagonal stripes of the hornworm. Also, no horn at the end. There are also pinkish long stripes down the length of each side, and black dots on either side up near the head (eyes? who knows).
I also found a 2nd smaller worm (about 1/4" -1/2" long) identical to the first, on the underside of a leaf.

Any idea what these are and how to get rid of them? I pulled them off and put them in a baggie to take to my local garden center, but I can't get there until the weekend.

Sounds rather like the tomato fruitworm, also called the corn earworm. Hand removal is the most effective and efficient method of controlling caterpillars unless you have a whole bunch of plants.
