I was thinking maybe it's deficient the leaves are lighter than my others with dark veins, but would that cause spotting? The pot is actually quite large about 18 gallons and when it started looking sad I fertilized it

Your really only suppose to fertilize it every couple months. How so often do you water it? Are you watering it and its raining as well? Or it could not be getting enough stick ur finger in the soil and see if its dry or damp. I would take it out the pot and put in the ground and see if it does any better. Good luck with your tomato plant, as i recently did not. I had a differnty species of caterpillar not the green ones, there like white n black,but what it did was borow itself into the stem of my plant and ate the inside of the whole plant which turned the plant completely hollow.

Do you have mulch in that pot? If so, it could be sucking up all the Nitrogen. Fertilize with a tomato-specific organic fertilizer.
Do not water everyday, and make sure it gets full sun.

It's probably waterlogged.
