I know. I sound so pathetic. This evening, I found yet another hornworm. This one was absolutely huge! While getting him off the plant, I noticed ALOT of slimy eggs in the same area. I must say, the eggs were almost as gross as the hornworm. They were different colors too: green, yellow and even black. In my panic, I grabbed a power hose and blew them away. At least I think I did.

Were all those egss from the Hornworm? Does this mean I am destined to feed and house these creatures all season long? I have used BT (according to directions) three times in three weeks (tonight was the third application.) This doesnt seem to be helping. Is there anything else I can try? Insecticides, pesticides..anything that won't bring down the quality of my fruit?

I touched on my bug phobia a bit in the column and really feel that I cannot continue growing my plants without a solution to this problem. Sigh. So please, please, please...if anyone has some words of wisdom, I'm all ears.

Warmly,

Stacey
