I went out in the garden this morning to find these red and black bugs on one of my tomato plants--about twenty of them! Yikes! Are they good bugs or bad?

RE: Little Red Bugs!

They are nymphs of either a leaf footed bug OR one of the assassin bugs. The nymphal stages of these insects look very similar, though by the time they are finished shedding skins and growing up they will look entirely different. The leaf footed bug is a pest while the assassin bugs are predatory on other insects. Observing them for awhile might shed some light on their true identification.
