Black bottoms to green tomatoes

It's been really hot, and we've been watering our plants once they get droopy. Could this by why the new green tomatoes have black circles covering their bottoms? Any suggestions?

Not the heat, but does sound like blossom end rot, BER, which is a physiological diosorder, not an infection, and goes away with time.

All sorts of stresses can induce it.

I too have this problem on my Roma plants but not on my hillbilly ones...Hopefully this will stop so I can put up ketchup and salsa...will check out the info posted by Carolyn..Thanks...Karen
