sulfur dust for controlling gray mold?

Has any one used sulfur dust for controlling gray mold on tomatoes? I seem to have gray mold on my tomatoes. We live along the coast in northern California and get a lot of fog especially this last week. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

RE: sulfur dust for controlling gray mold?

Hi guysmom - I have heard and read about it but have never tried it myself. According to the literature it will help control it but doesn't eradicate it.

Same with many of the fungal sprays - Daconil for example. They will help control only. Prevention, insofar as possible, by avoiding overhead watering and increasing air circulation in the plants helps but the fungus (Botrytis cinerea) is quite common and thrives in high humidity (Foggy) environments.

Sulphur is certainly worth a try. Good luck.

Dave
