White Flies

Hi Y'all,

Yikes, it is supposed to be 109 degrees here today. Bleh! It was already too hot to be outdoors and work at 9 am.

Anyhoo, we have tiny white flies all over our tomato plants. We are newbies to growing so are unfamiliar with what they are and what to do. We are doing organic so don't want to use pesticides. Any ideas of what we ought to do?

By the way, this being our first ever tomato crop in 24 years of marriage, we have had a fantastic one and have so enjoyed our tomatoes. We're sure because of a few problems that we need to learn more, but they have been delicious!

Our biggest loss was during the first few weeks of harvest, we could not keep the birds away no matter what we tried. Thankfully, they left some for us. ha. We tried foil strips that waved in the wind to no avail. After a few weeks, the skins seemed to toughen and they seemed to lose interest. Yay for us, though we did enjoy the tomatoes more when the skins weren't as tough also.

Thanks in advance for your help!
