Ruby, the purplish discoloration you are describing and the leaf curling reminds me of TSWV. I've been stricken with this before, so perhaps I am more prone to diagnosing it. Have you had any issues with thrips? they are typically a vector of this disease.

If you could post a picture, I think it would help tremendously.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed any thrips around (not that I'm totally sure I could identify them), but there haven't been any insect infestations that I'm aware of. Today, there was a single white fly and what may or may not have been an egg on the leaves (which I removed).

I'll try and get a decent picture tomorrow. Any sort of damage control I can start right away in the morning? Thanks for your help.
