Continual planting in the same place?

geraldo

I tried a search, but I get every message in the threads. It is very time consuming.

How often do you plant toms in the same place? If you plant three or four years in the same place are you asking for trouble? What about if you alternate places yearly? Would that be suficient to avoid a build up of nematodes or whatever disease organism it is that might make this inadvisable?

If you grow toms in that place can you then grow another nightshade in that place the following year?

I can alternate places, but I already have the stakes driven into the ground and I am trying to get out of some work.

Thank you,

Geraldo
