tomato hornworm??

my cat brought me what looks like one of these but has no dots on his side. The stupid thing bit me when I picked it up. Atleast it felt like a bite. Do they bite and is mine a tomato hornworm even without the spots? no tomato plants---I haven't cleared the brush on that side of my house yet--plenty of trees---we call it "the jungle" for my 11 week old kitten

I read one of these that said a man wants these things. if you are close by you are more than welcome to have this one

RE: tomato hornworm??

You'll need to post a picture if you want an identification. Or at least a better description. Did it, for example, have a horn? Or was it just a big green caterpillar?
