Is this disease, nutrient deficiency, or ??

We have a few tomato plants growing in raised beds along our back fence. Our summer has been cooler than usual (relatively speaking) and we didn't get much hot weather until about August. The beds face south but there's probably a bit too much shade for tomatoes due to the tall roses in front of it and the tall Juniper trees to the west. We're about ready to dig them up but I wanted to ask if someone can tell me what's wrong with the plant -- is this a disease, lack of nutrients, or ???.

Those folks suspect a virus; I think it's not.

Would you please post an overall image of the plant and perhaps the row of plants?

Here is a link that might be useful: original thread w/same image

I have a very similar problem to Jean001a's problem. I think I have an infestation of spider mites causing this problem. I did see some very tiny bugs as well as some small webs. The leaves of my tomatoe plants turn dull and turn almost white. THe fruit as it ripens gets a blotchy yellow coloring. I have the same problem on some eggplant plants (leaves turn dull and white, fruit sick). Someone told me to spray the plants with a garden hose to get rid of the spider mites. That does not seem to work. Do you think it is spider mites? Is so, what is the best, safest way to get rid of the problem. I have pictures I can post but I cannot figure out how to do it on this response to an existing message.
