| Katrina wasn't kind to my tomatoes, even though I live far inland in middle TN. A few tops were broken by wind -- the system was still at Tropical Storm force when it got here, a historical first. But the big problem, I think, was the 6-8 inches of rain we got in about 10 hours. One day afterward I started seeing wilting on previously huge, healthy plants, and now about 80% are wilting beyond resuscitation. Anybody have a notion what the problem is?

The plants are suffering from extreme overwatering. There's really not much you can do other than to remove any mulch to aid in evaporation. Are your beds raised? |
