tomato markings ID needed

I have a gardening student who brought me this picture asking to know what the markings are on her tomatoes. She mentioned that she was fertilizing every week and when she cut back on that, the tomatoes that followed didn't bear these marks. Can anyone identify what this is? I actually experienced a few tomatoes like this this season too, but not from over fertilizing.

I can't be sure, but maybe stinkbugs. The damage from them is usually only the skin of the fruit.
