Pith Necrosis - can I ever plant there again

fert1

I had some sort of wilting disease hit my garden this year, and it took out just about every plant, but some tried to make a comeback. It's possible it could have been Fusarium or Verticillium, but since some of the plants tried to make a comeback, I suspect Pith Necrosis. The stems were hollow as well.

If I use the same spot next year, are my plants fated to die? I know it would be better to use another spot, but I don't have another spot that is as good. Plus I planted them all in a line at the top of the hill. So the diseased soil would still drain down through the rest of my yard, spreading any disease organisms to the rest of the yard anyway.
