 o
disease in sandy soils

I have a question, does sandy soil promote diseases more than a loamy/clayish soil?

I'm asking because I grew some maters in sandy soil last year and it seems like they were more prone for diseases than the plants in the rest of the garden. Yes I did put down a good straw mulch to prevent weeds and splash up.

Or is it a srictly splash up thing or spores blowing in on the wind?

RE: disease in sandy soils

I have sandy soil and haven't had trouble with diseases. I feed the tomatoes with Alaska brand fish-bases plant food (7-2-2). I don't know if this makes the plants stronger and thus more resistant to disease.
