I bought two Bougainvilleas to cover two ugly columns at the entrance to my house. What is the best way to tie them to the columns, so they will grow up and around them?

ana, agree you need to be careful but you could remove thorns with pruners. I've made topiary bougainvillas before. Also I've a 42 year old plant as a bonsai.
