| Michelle, Try English Yew (Taxus Baccata) English yew is an extremely long living evergreen conifer, with slender pine like needles. Yew topiary can last for centuries, it tolerates frequent pruning, so it makes great hedges as well as shapes. This plant is also frost hardy. It tolerates a wide range of pH levels and light regimes. Needs moist, well-drained loam. Does not tolerate any level of water-logged soils or strong winds. Can be planted in either spring or fall and pruned anytime. Tolerances - shade - acidic soil FYI!!!!All parts of yews, except the fleshy aril, are poisonous to animals, including humans. |
