Need help with Dwarf Myrtle :(

I have 9 animal Topiaries. Some are 5 ft tall. Last Fall I dug up quite a few to move them and make room for a pond. The root balls were intact and I planted them in large pots in Miracle grow soil. They slowly lost EVERY leaf :( The branches are still alive, how can I get them to leaf out??
