watering?

| Last fall I wired 2 small round wire baskets together after lining them with moss and filling with dirt. I took cuttings of the ivy growing outside, stuck them in and put the whole thing in a sunroom. To my surprise it has done very well. Every two weeks I put it in a sink full of water. Now the problem. I would like to put it outside this summer and leave it there all year. It would be anchored on a post so I can't remove it and soak in a bucket of water. Will it survive the winter this way. How will I water. Thanks in advance. |

| Most indoor ivies will not survive the winter outdoors in a zone 5 climate...You will need to take it indoors by fall. As for watering, a good soak using a lawn host is fine perhaps once a week and more during the summer period (where I find sometimes that containered materials require even 2x daily watering). |
