| I am interested in making an arch out of my 2 12+ foot arborvitae - there is approx. 5 feet of space between them. Does anyone know how I would go about doing this? Or where there might be instructions? I have thought about pulling the tops together and then pruning to form the arch but don't know if this will work or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

| I'm recalling seeing where someone installed a temporary framework and then tied branches to it to persuade them to grow horizontally. They were lightly pruned, I think, to get a more dense foliage cover. You might want to ask on the UK forum. I'm pretty sure I saw this in a British topiary publication. |
