Trimming 1 sphere to make 2

Hi to everyone!

I have two 3' "topiary" trees in the front walk way that have 1 sphere each about 2' in diameter. I want to trim each to make 2 smaller spheres but don't know how.

My wife hates it when I pick up the scissors to trim the trees. I'm too much of a perfectionist...or fuddie-duddie...and usually trim...trim...trim.

Anyway, any help quickly is appreciated.

Casey. THANKS!

Hope you didn't try yet...
You can trim the big sphere to a smaller one but leave some branches at the top. This little bit has to grow into the new second sphere now. It has to sit right on top of the first. If you want a bit of stem in between you should start with a new tree. I'll look for more info on topiary and be back.
What tree are we talking about?

Sigrid
