Can I make a spirel out of regular wild ceder trees?

Hello! This is my first time on the topiary forum.

I would suggest (although I've never done topiary) would be to wrap 2 parallel brightly coloured pieces of string around the cedar. That way, you can adjust to what angle you want the spiral at. Also, that will help you cut at the same angle all around. You can adjust the strings before you start cutting. Just cut whatever's inbetween the two strings for a spiral around the tree.
