Existing Yew into a Topiary

Posted by betsyhac (My Page) on

I have huge overgrown boxy (in need of trimming) yews in front of my house. In the process of trying to find info on how to rip them out, I've come across suggestions to prune them into pretty shapes and/or topiaries. I love this idea! But, despite a lot of subsequent searching, I'm not really finding instructions or pictures. Any suggestions on books or sites that can provide this?
Thx,
Betsy

I found this one right away when I typed in: "books on making topiary". I'm sure there are others.

Here is a link that might be useful: topiary book

RE: Existing Yew into a Topiary

Thank you Schoolhouse. I had actually found lots of books on topiaries, but wanted to know if anyone had experience turning an existing (very overgrown) yew into one. I've since had the yews removed, but didn't have time to landscape before Winter came. So, I'd almost forgotten about the topiaries. Thanks for sparking my interest again. Looks like a cute book.
