 o
shrub for 'ABC's'?

I have seen several businesses in our area that have their names cut from small bushes/shrubs. I am trying to find a plant that I can do this with at home. One that really caught my eye was the local t.v. station that had their call letters spelled out in a dark green shrub with dark red begonias planted in between to provide a stark contrast. I would love to do this at the entrance to our driveway to post our address. Any suggestions?

RE: shrub for 'ABC's'?

hmm, not quite sure what you have in mind. Do you mean for the letters to stand up 3 diamentionally? or did you want them set down low to the ground, with the letters facing upwards?

In anycase, the easiest plant I can think of is boxwood. It's slow in growing but so easy to shape and managed. There are other plants as well like yews that have a deep green look to them. Both shrubs are evergreens, so they won't drop their leaves in winter.
