Creating a Lantana Topiary

Posted by BrookieB Boston,MA (My Page) on

I have a Lantana plant that I would like to bring inside to overwinter. I just returned from a trip to the National Garden in DC and admired their beautiful Lantana topiaries. Can anyone tell me how to develop this plant into a topiary? (This would be my first try at developing anything into a topiary!)
Thanks!

RE: Creating a Lantana Topiary

I'm currently trying to do just that. The book I have about topiary says that you have to start with an UNpinched plant, then tie it to a stake. Let the stem get as tall as you like, and while it's growing remove any side brances. Then, once the stem is as tall as you like, start pinching back the stem so it will branch.
