Gardens in England

Hello everyone,
I am a Horticulture major and am writing a paper on English Gardens.
If there is anybody who has a moment to give me some ideas and some guidance that would be of interest please let me know and vice versa I live in Ohio and if anyone wants some info from this part of the world please drop me note.

Karl - you might gain some useful information from this list of gardens open to the public mainly in the north midlands and north east of the UK. I'm not sure what you are wanting but there is a little more about these long established gardens on my website.

Thanks for the detailed informations and pictures. I am afraid you seem to adviced a june visit. I will bring a group in a May garden tour (13 to 18 may) Would it be a nice period for visiting garden in Yorkshire. This is the list of the garden chosen Newby hall / Castle Howard / Bramham park /Harewood house / Parceval hall / Scampton hall / Duncombe park / York gate garden at leeds / Hemlsley walled garden / Studley royal / Harlow carr / Land farm garden.
I am looking for nice Inn address nearby the garden for afternoon tea or light lunch but for a group of 30 participants ? What are the yorkshire standards ?
