getting plants through customs

We are going to the UK next month and would like to bring home a few plants.
We will clean off the soil and declsre whatever we have. I'd like to hear from anyone who's done this recently.

Hello! If you are planning to bring plant material into this country, you need to read the APHIS regulations. The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service checks all plant materials coming into the United States. Certain types of plants are banned altogether. Check first in order to save yourself the frustration of possibly having your plant material confiscated. Their website is:
