Seattle trip in late Aug early Sept.

I've never stopped in Seattle for a few days but will do so later this year. Are there any gardens worth taking a trip to in the area at that time of year?

Heron's Wood and also Little and Lewis are two places I've been that are wonderful. I especially recommend Little and Lewis. You can reach they have a web site...I'm not sure at present what it is exactly. Also you will need to call ahead for and appointment. It truly is a magical place.

Belview Botanical Garden in Belview for its prenial boarders.
Kubota gardens - 75 yr old Japense garden very nice & mature trees, conifers.
Blodel Reserve on Bainbridge island
Fairie Herb Gardens in Tumwater if you are in Olympia area.

If you go north to Canada, don't miss UBC and Van Dusen gardens in Vancouver.

The major collection in Seattle is the Washington Park Arboretum. Interesting plants can also be seen at the Carl English Jr Botanical Garden.
