Hi Southern gardeners - We will be driving from Michigan to Laurel, Maryland the first weekend in April. A little early I know, but we're really looking forward to any touch of spring that we can find!

Any suggestions of those special public gardens that we don't want to miss? I'm thinking maybe bulbs or flowering trees? I don't have a clue as to what may be blooming at that time or where to find it.

Ladew Gardens is worth a visit in Monkton, MD. It is a large topiary garden. They also have bulbs, which may be blooming when you are there. If you could drive 2 to 3 hrs to Pennyslvania Longwood Gardens is a must. Have a fun trip.
