Garden greetings! I will be visiting Williamsburg ,VA @ the end of this month-4/03. Does anyone know of some gardens other than the small one in Williamsburg? Also any daylily farms? Plus garden shoppes?--Thanks

RE: Re gardens in Williamsburg, VA

Lucky you - the entire state of Virginia celebrates gardening in a big way during the last week of April. There are special tours in nearly every city and town. There is a brochure you need to get. There are plantations and numerous historic sites in and near Williamsburg that will have special garden tours. There is a tour of homes in the historic section of Williamsburg (homes that employees live in) and the tour also includes tours of homes just outside Colonial Williamsburg - it is not organized by Colonial Williamsburg but the Garden Club of Williamsburg. We went to a fabulous working plantation across the James River from Williamsburg - it was quite a little drive, but worth every mile - the home had the most incredible English gardens that led right to a bluff overlooking the James. You need the brochure - here is the link for the website.
