new york and pa. gardens- advice plse.!

we're thinking of doing our own ny/pa garden tour/trip beginning 7/25. the itinerary i have in mind is :
Home(Boston area) to Stonecrop to PepsiCo. to Wave Hill to Brooklyn Botanical Gardens( to Phila Museum of Art(maybe)) to Chanticleer to the Barnes Foundation( to FallingWater/Pittsburgh.) and home. Of these gardens, we have only been to wave hill, so we have an idea of time needed there. have you been to any of the others and might you have any advice as to what
kind of time we should allot,ideally, to them ?we're pretty much interested in all plant material except roses(there has to be something, doesn't there!?) but our particular interests are foliage , woody plant material and wonderful design. Aside from Winterthur/Longwood Gardens- do any other very special gardens pop up in your mind that i haven't mentioned?thank you in advance.

| Sorry, just got back from Colorado. Would've suggested visiting Morris Arboretum and Swarthmore College campus, too, but you've got a full plate of fabulous sites to tour. Let us know how it went and how you liked everything. |
