Puerto Vallarta & Nuevo Vallarta

Hi Y'all,
I go to PV (Puerto Vallarta) every other year and stay in a beautiful hotel called Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta. The plantings and the shrubbery of the NV area is unbelievable. Beautiful bouganvillea and giant topiaries in the oddest shapes. This year I'll be taking photos. I'd be willing to check out any gardens that you know of in that general area. Does anyone know of any that you could recommend? (PS - That area is so romantic. It is where Richard Burton and Liz Taylor fell in love and married (the first time!)
Thanks in advance -- Debra

RE: Puerto Vallarta & Nuevo Vallarta

We stay at Bucerias just North of Nuevo Vallarta and we went on a tour of a mangrove swamp which included a garden with alligators etc. This was an all day bus tour, included a visit to San Blas. The mangrove swamp was not an official garden but had lots of interesting plants, birds, and animals (you rode in a little motor boat). The downside was when we went the guides had minimal English. Although I would gladly go again, I would rather skip San Blas and the stop at the quaint village, and take a taxi straight to the mangrove place, and rather than go with a group, hire your own boat which would let you stay as long as you wanted. There are lots of boats, I'm sure this is possible. I'm sure this would be more expensive, but how much more I don't know. I think we paid about $40 per person for the all day tour which included box lunches and sodas. If you are going to be there between Thanksgiving & Christmas and would like to go with me email me and we'll see if we can work it out.
