We are planning on travelling to Japan a year from now. Does anyone know when the best fall color usually is?
If so, would you tell me?

The folks on the Japanese Gardening Forum can give a specific answer this, if you post the question there. I've seen plenty of fall color in October in the area between Hiroshima and Tokyo (which includes Kyoto).
