What is your favorite airline to take to Europe?

I would love your suggestions on the best airline to take to Europe. I am cashing in my Visa dollars and get a free roundtrip on any airline. I will be joining a tour somewhere, probably starting in Rome or Paris. I've been told by friends to avoid stopovers in the USA but rather fly San Francisco to London or Paris. Thanks!!

We have enjoyed British Airways, KLM and SAS. Worst experience was on American Air. Virgin was O.K. too.

I have used KLM and Continental. I like both.

American airlines is awesome since they took out some seats of their aircraft, and they have more room :)

I lived in London for 4 years and travelled home to CA several times- sometimes to San Diego, sometimes to SF. I don't recall the airline, but what I do recall is the airPORT. Avoid Heathrow at all costs! London has two other wonderful airports, my preference is Gatwick. It is south of london by a 20 minute train ride which would cost you $10 5 years ago. Heathrow is a 20-30 minute TUBE ride (train is more comfortable and less crowded usually) west of London. There is also Stanstead, north of London by train I think 30 minutes. My husband used to fly in and out of there and said it was as nice as Gatwick. Have a good trip!

My mom also swears by Lufthansa (Condor in the U.S.).

I agree with Frank--Lufthansa is the best!

I like Icelandair , you just have to know which rows of seats,(more Roomy) , for me its just 6 hours to Iceland and then a short stopover and then 3 hours to mostly anywhere in Europe, I have done this trip a few times and had good luck .

I like Lufthansa, but think I prefer Swissair. Once they upgraded me to Business Class because the plane was full and that was pure luxury.

I suggest that you change your destination to Asia and take
Singapore Airlines if you want THE BEST. Both Lufthansa and Swissair will get you to Europe OK, if you must go. One
thing I like about Lufthansa is their airbus connections to the more out of the way places.

I've traveled to europe a lot on different airlines... the best ever was virgin atlantic... avoid the american flights like delta... service wasn't that good...
The past 4 years i've been traveling virgin atlantic and it's been very comfortable and great service...
Good luck
