hey Rick,

yeah the purple cane is pretty kewl! Cut it into short sections, each with atleast one node. Lay the pieces horizontally, and press them about 1/2 way into the soil, sprinkle the exposed cane surface with dry potting mix and keep moist bu tnot wet and VERY warm until the sprout. Be sure and get fresh cut, plump canes.

Give them full sun and moderate soil and water, should get anywhere from 6-9' this summer.
