Sabal minor in shade?

| I have a small sabal minor that's been in the ground for a couple of winters. It's very small and slow-growing, which I expected.
It's in a bed next to the south wall of the house. I had planned for it to be in partial sun, but with all of the bananas and cannas growing so big every year, it's quite shaded.
I know they don't like to be moved, but should I move it to a sunnier spot? I have a bed about 10 feet out from the house that is mostly full sun. It would be less sheltered but lots sunnier. Opinions please? |

| I have a sabal minor that I raised from seed that I have successfully moved twice. Both moves were when the palm was smaller than 1 foot tall. If your palm is still quite small I would move it to the sunnier location as long as the new location still gets some summer warmth. Moving it away from the house should also provide more moisture as the drain rock around the house likely sucks it all up. My sabals love lots of water and grow quite quickly despite their slow rep. I attribute their growth to the sun/water combo. |

| I plan on planting more in a sunny and sometimes soggy area of my garden. I am sure they will like it and since it is south facing and out of the wind, they should grow faster. |
