| Happy Spring!
I am in northern Virginia and looking to add some cold tolerant clumping bamboo to my back yard for a more "tropical" feel. Since I am an avid gardner I have a lot of material to trade, but am open to other options. I'd like to collect a few of the smaller (15' or less) bamboo species for various places and thought the following would be good potential candidates (although again, I'm open to other possibilities): Fargesia rufa
I have been collecting Hydrangea for years, but also have other tradable material as well, if you are interested. Please let me know what works. Thanks! Mark Mark Galvan
HERE ARE MY COMPLETE PLANT TRADING DETAILS
HYDRANGEA COLLECTION
Ducumcaria barbara (native)
In addition I have some unidentifiable varieties which I collected from private gardens where the owner/caretaker was unable to confirm the species/variety. |

| Have you considered cold hardy palms or bananas? |
|
| did you ever get your fargesia? I have a lot of it and it has survived a very wet 14 degrees here in Portland. I am moving to Guatemala very soon, but if you still haven't gotten any, I can send you a clump for postage. |

| Contact me next spring and I'll be able to perhaps give you a small clump of Fargesia rufa 'Green Panda'. It's growing like a weed at present, and I will actually WANT to thin it if it doesn't winter-kill at all. Lisa (TFarnon@aol.com) |
