Fatsia japonica will do best with shade from the hot sun. These always looks their best with at least shade from the hottest / sunniest parts of the day.

I suggest that you put that fatsia into a much more shady location. I have had one survive repeated winters in the ground in my zone6b/7a but I think that in your zone 7, winter sun burn can pose a problem in a full sun position.
