Ants on hibiscus plants

I have two hibiscus plants, and both have lots of little ants crawling on the flowers. I can't identify the precise variety of these plants, but they probably aren't the winter-hardy variety. I got them at Home Depot a couple weeks ago, and they've had lots of beautiful blooms. Does anybody have any suggestions on keeping ants off these plants (or other plants, for that matter)? Thanks!

Have you scrutinized the underneaths of the leaves and the newer growth for aphids? Look really closely.

I'm not seeing aphids, but perhaps I'm not looking in the right places. Just lots of ants. Is it time to invest in some bug spray?
