There are also lots of people on the Tiki forum (not on this website, but you can search for it) that have made tiki huts. I have an indoor tiki hut that I made every easily.

It seems that any structure with a grass or palm thatch roof is classified as a "Tiki" hut. Put a thatched roof on it and you have a "Tiki" outhouse.
I have some old metal shelves that once belonged in a grocery store. We have been using them for plant display for a couple of years now. One facing East and one facing West against the walls of our pool area. They are realy heavy and strong, but they are really ugly. There has been talk of painting them something other than the gun metal grey that they are now, but I am also thinking of trying to come up with a way to use lattice on the sides and somehow attach palm thatch over the top and/or hot glue it to the edges of the shelves to kind of fix them up, making them "Tiki" shelves. We already have some Tiki torches in there and I have also been pricing Tiki figure wall plaques to hang on the walls and fences of the pool area to further sell the "Tiki" theme.

We call them ranchos down here but we use metal roofs. I lost a Tiki to a bottle rocket years ago.I DO Not recommend thatch no matter how neat they look. roaches, spiders and fires...
This one is octagonal with a vented glass roof. I painted the steel green after it aged a little.
