Tropical Plants in Puerto Vallarta

If you are travelling to Puerto Vallarta, you should be sure to make a stop at the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Garden. This is an incredible new Botanical Garden (and nursery, restaurant, with a beautiful building for events) about a half hour south of Puerta Vallarta, MX.

It is also the location for the PV Orchid Gardener's group, for those interested in orchids. You can easily reach the Garden by bus, or driving.

The website is www.pvbg.net.

This is a must-see. It's not even a year old yet, and it's beautiful. Also, it is set about a small river, with places to swim and cool off.

Another plus about visiting PV is that all the plants that we baby and protect in US Zones 5 and 6 grow wild(ly) here. And are easy to grow from cuttings. And are cheap. $1.50US for a bouganvilla, $2.00 for an hibiscus. And lots and lots of other beautiful plants. There are plant nurseries everywhere.

I don't think you can import the plants, but since I live in this area, I get to shop and plant and grow all the beautiful tropicals.
