I'm so excited I finally received the Jacks Giant elephant ear that I ordered. Now I'm wondering where I should plant it. Do they like full sun or is partial shade ok? The climate here is hot and dry in the summer so maybe some afternoon shade would be good. I'm also wondering about amending the soil before I plant it. Should I add compost or steer manure? I am also curious if anyone successfully overwinters the plant by digging and storing in the garage or basement. The winters here are too cold to leave it in the ground. Any advice on making this plant grow to be the giant I want it to be is greatly appreciated!
