Brugmansia Cubensis (charles grimaldi)

Hello, I purchased Brugmansia Cubensis from White Flower Farm. It is now about 2 and 1/2 feet tall, planted in a 12 inch pot outside. Does anybody have any suggestions as to taking care of, encouraging flowering etc? Should I keep in pot? I live in RI, would need to bring inside in winter. Should i change pots? It says full sun to part shade, but it is a tropical. Any suggestions appreciated.

I grow brugmansias but they are outside and i don't take care of them much. I just plant them, forget about them and they take care of the rest. There are plenty of GW members who grow theirs in colder climates and have lots of good advice. You should post your question on the Brugmansias forum here on GW and you should get more info there.

hi eklein...i have many brugs and bring them in for the winter....lots of sun, water, and fertilizer...when you see the leaves start to sag...water...fertilize at least once a week...in fall before first frost, you can cut them down and store in the basement with minimal light and a cup of water once a month or so..in early spring slowly bring them back to life with a bright window...no problem..
good luck..
