These amazing leaves are the reason I plant these beautiful cannas. I wouldn't even need the velvety orange blooms.

How do you overwinter your plant? Do you lift it or leave it in the ground? I've been growing one in a water garden. Purchased it last year and grew increasingly fond of it. After last season, I just put it into the unheated garage and forgot about it--never watering it. I started to water it again in the Spring and it looks amazing again--better than last year! --I am hoping for flowers this year as I am treating it with more care--and respect. Good luck!

Where I live (Louisiana), you can just leave cannas in the ground and they will reliably return every year. No over-wintering troubles needed.

It is one of my favorites. It gets nice and tall and contrasts so well with other tropicals.
