| Hi there,
I have a tropicalesque backyard. I recently installed a small pond with a fountain near a wooden fence, but would like to cover the fence with a vine (got any other ideas?). However, I'd really like to have something that looks tropical, but doesn't have much flower or leaf drop, because I dont want to have to continually clean the fountain. The fence faces south and has filtered light from 3 queen palms. I have 2 toddlers, so poisionous flowers aren't option. Thanks so much. |

| English Ivy might be your best bet. Maybe Asian Jasmine? |
|
| How about stephanotis (madagascar jasmine)? It may not flower much if it doesn't get too much sun, but I've seen them deep under eaves, very lush if it stays warm. |

| I have a large stephanotis vine on a covered porch. It gets morning sun and has been flowering all summer. It has a heavenly scent in the evening. You can smell it during the day but at night is when I can really smell it! It has almost no leaf drop but the flowers do fall off when spent. I wish they would get pollinated because I read they make big pear shaped fruits (not to eat) with seeds that you can plant. Been trying to layer or start a cutting but its taking forever... |
