Peltophorum pterocapum - - Where can it grow outside?

I'm curious to find out where Peltophorum pterocarpum (Yellow Poinciana) will grow outside besides California, Florida and Hawaii.

I've read that it has been grown outdoors in Houston, TX and other Southern States.

I live in San Diego where it is frost-free and temperatures rarely ever go below 40 degrees.

I would love to see people post pictures of their P. pterocarpum (Yellow Poinciana) and talk about their experiences growing this tree.

I'm posting some locally grown trees from North Balboa Park,

San Diego, CA. I will set-up a link to a photobucket album to view more pictures. The password is: plumeria (lowercase)

It can be accessed by double-clicking on a photo below also.
