Not much thrives in deep, deep shade. But you could try holly fern, tassle fern, painted fern, Fatsia japonica, maybe some of the smaller variegated leucothoes, sweetbox, mondo grass, aucuba.

If you can keep it dry during the winter than a windmill palm might also work. But you can never go wrong with ferns. Try to look for the ones that stay green ALL year long. They are more tropical looking in my opinion. And impatiens and begonias make great annuals that love shade and water.

I second the Fatsia Japonica. Also try a Leopard Plant. Grab some Taro roots at the grocery and plant them there as well.

Alex is correct about the Windmill Palm. I have 4 with one growing in the shade. It grows differently than those with more sun. Its has a very small trunk but the fonds are huge. It looks incredible, like a svelte sabal minor, if that makes sense.

There are also lots of exotic hostas that would look great in the shade.
