Hi, can someone tell me how to best ship a five gallon mandevilla across the country? I will need to take it out to the pot so do I leave some soil on? Take all soil off and wrap with spagnum? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Jean

RE: shipping mandevilla

I don't have any idea where you are shipping it to, but for what it will cost to ship a 5-gallon plant, the person receiving it could buy one. You will need to ship it so that it travels the quickest - probably UPS would be better than USPS, because these vines are touchy. I would recommend NOT shipping a vine this size, as it's been my experience that they will die, or at best, do poorly. Mandevilla vines are very touchy when it comes to watering and heat/cold fluxes. If I were you, I would research this some more. I hope others, with experience shipping plants, will chime in.
