I just purchased some Tahitian Flame Ginger plnats at 90%off so the cost was about $1,29 each.
They are in 2 gallon pots.
How do I over winter them in zone 5?
Other plants that I got at 90% off, Red leaf bannana(10 ft tall)=$19.00,Tropicana cannas $2.50 each Total 8,Sea grape planter in Pot $10.00 each total 2,Tree hibiscus $6.00 each total 2. Star Jasimine $ 2.00 each in 2 gallonb pots total 6.
I can also get Lantanas on sale in tree form ,Should I?
Will be over wintering all .

| Hey - where did you find a sale like that? At those prices I would be having quite a shopping spree! I wonder if Lowe's still has tripicals on sale ...! Might have to make a plant run even tho I hadn't planned on doing that! |

| I guess it didn't occur to you that the reason they were going so cheap is that the business didn't want to have to deal with overwintering them either! I hope you have some experience with what it takes to keep these various different plants alive; which can be forced into dormancy and which will need warmth and light. Far better to have researched this before buying the sale plants than after the fact. Good luck with keeping them going, hope you do have a clue what you need to do, or you just threw your money down the drain. Do you have a greenhouse or attached sunporch that you can keep heated all winter? |
