They really thrive in neglect , i.e. very little water/dry soil part sun. MIne seem to love being kept cool and hardly any water in winter. They bloom each spring/summer for me this way.

The most important thing is to keep them potbound and on the dry side.

Foled leaves is a sign that the plant is very stressed, and once this happens, the old folded leaves will never return to normal. I have had this happen when trying to divide/transplant large old plants in the garden, and usually indicates severed roots or root rot setting in. You will want to encourage good root growth and fertilize to push new growth, while giving it the warmest, sunniest winter conditions possible. As Boca Joe says, do not overwater in winter, especially if it isn't getting warmth and all day winter sun. Heating cables to keep the roots warmer might encourage new growth faster.

Thx for explaining the leaves won't unfold. I've been waiting and waiting...
I moved it closer to the heat register.
Maybe I've been keeping it too moist.
Or maybe it was sad to leave FL:)
